Wanted to have some seafood so we read the reviews and decided to give this a try. Good pick from the group consensus. We had raw oysters (2 types) and calamari for appetizers. Dinner consisted of crab cakes (since there are signs all over saying that they have the best crab cakes) and fish and chips. Those that had the crab said it was very tasty. Fish and chips were fine. Desserts were key lime pie and brownies with ice cream. Loved the brownies choice more than the key lime one. All in all a good choice for a last minute search for a nice dinner. There's both outdoor seating (converted from parking lot) and indoor seating. Both require their own reservations. Outdoor seating turns out to be less noisy and cold. Great AC for a hot summer's day. Dog friendly - they provide a dog bowl with water for them.

We went at 3pm on a Saturday and were seated immediately. The place was bustling. Pros: good food, fresh seafood. The Maryland crab soup was delicious and I recommend it. My husband liked the oysters (although he likes them to be more briney and some of them were a bit bland). He also got the soft shell crab sandwich, which he liked. I personally don't like the texture of the soft shell. I got the Cozumel shrimp salad, which was like a southwest salad with grilled shrimp. I really liked it! Service was good. Cons: a few flies/gnats flying around us during our meal. A couple gnats went into my husband's drink. Overall, we had a good meal here. It's a good option to consider if you're visiting Annapolis.

Food was delightful. Service was professional. Great times, and great vibes. The crab balls were addicting and dessert was the hit for our night. We're def coming back as there is a dog friendly eating area!

Delicious food and excellent service in spite of a full restaurant during Plebes Weekend at the Naval Academy. There are about 10 parking spots behind the building and we were lucky enough to get one. We entered the convenient back door and wound our way to the hostess stand. We were seated right away and within a few minutes Joy greeted us with a smile and with professionalism. She was well informed about the menu. We ordered a crab cake sandwich, fried oysters, and fried calamari; and shared all with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a draft ale. The food arrived surprisingly quickly and was hot/perfectly seasoned/ cooked as requested. We were very happy with our experience and will be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Boatyard this evening. We had to park in the pay lot nearby as there is limited street parking. We were amazed at how quickly we were seated on a Friday evening. We sat outside as it was much quieter. The restaurant itself is pretty noisy. I decided to have the crabcakes which were amazing. I was slightly disappointed with the vegetable pairing of corn and mashed potatoes. The food arrived quickly after we ordered and our server Carly was pleasant and responsive. The bathroom was clean and decorated tastefully with lots of humorous and interesting artwork. This establishment was recommended by a local and I would definitely consider dining here again.

We came for the seafood! Specifically the crab cakes! The restaurant is nicely decorated & clean with a tasteful, non tacky nautical theme and is a very spacious establishment. It wasn't crowded. We had a late dinner around 8:30pm. They also have a large covered outdoor seating as well. Service: We were seated promptly & received our food promptly. Our server was pleasant. We finished dinner and the check was paid by 9:15pm! Food: Crab cake sandwich - You want huge lumps of crab- no fillers? This. Is. Your. Place! I was astounded & excited to have so much crab meat that I didn't have to physically peel. Thank you! It was definitely worth the price! You have a choice of a side, one option being a cup of cream crab soup for a $3.99 up charge. My sister went with the cream of crab soup. She said it was soo good! I asked if it was better than Reynold's Tavern's cream of crab soup?? YES she said. So I had to have a taste to see if it was true. It was pretty darn good too! But Boatyard definitely has more crab meat in theirs. I stuck with the included side option of potato salad. I really enjoyed that as well. Their crab cake has a mellow flavor profile, not too much seasoning, but that crab meat is some sweet delicious meat alone! It came with tartar sauce which is subtle as well. My friend had the pan roasted salmon salad. It was a healthy size piece of salmon in its entirety on top of a bed of mixed greens. Hers looked fantastic as well. Although they didn't cook the salmon to her desired temperature, she said it still was really good and not dried out. Parking- they have their own parking lot, but somehow we missed the entrance to it so we did street parking. Nothing important, just reference to a celebrity pic in the restaurant bathroom. My sister noticed a picture of Good Charlotte with their wives Nicole Ritchie & Cameron Diaz in one of the woman's bathroom stalls. It makes sense since Good Charlotte are originally from Waldorf,MD. I got all excited & relived some college memories sharing the story of how I met Benji & Joel Madden at a Blink 182 concert at the Electric Factory in Philly in the late 90s, before they became popular. They were watching Blink 182 as well. I recognized them from when they opened up for Save Ferris at the TLA in Philly earlier. They were super stoked that I recognized them and that I remembered their names & band, & asked me my name. We chatted for a short bit and shook hands.

First time here. Service at the bar. Only knocked off a star because the bartender forgot to bring her good personality to work. Ordered the Black n Blue Chicken Club ( listed as new item ). Excellent sandwich bumped up to some sweet potato fries which were done perfectly.

Excellent mealfrom beginning to end. First and only complaint: WHY don't restaurants have whiskey lists?! They have wine lists. They have beer lists. They have cocktail lists. But when it comes to whiskey, one has to go to the bar and peer at the shelves. Anyway, I discovered a really nice Knob Creek 8 year. Rant ended. M enjoyed her Lemon Crunch cocktail, and B had TWO (!) Admirals! The Cape Cod oysters were fabulous, big and sweet. and B enjoyed the Maryland Crab soup. She and I both had the rockfish special with broccoli rabe and lobster salsa, which we agreed was superior. M also enjoyed her salmon. I finished with an ice cream made with Old Bay Maple seasoning, and it was great! Kiersten our server was really excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Tip o' the hat!

I was invited to a work team lunch at Boatyard Bar and Grill last week, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. When I arrived, my group was already seated outside under the big tarps set up for outdoor dining. It was a perfect day for an outdoor lunch, with sunny skies adding to the pleasant atmosphere. To start, I ordered the cream of crab soup in a bowl. It was simply amazing--rich, cheesy, and packed with lots of crab. For my main entrée, I went with the softshell crab sandwich, having done some research beforehand. Whoever recommended this sandwich was absolutely right. It was incredible. The crab melted in my mouth, and the sandwich was extremely filling. The service was quick, and the servers were incredibly friendly. Our food came out promptly, which is always a plus during a work lunch. Although I never made it inside the restaurant, I am definitely looking forward to coming back and possibly exploring the indoor dining experience next time. Overall, Boatyard Bar and Grill provided an excellent dining experience, with delicious food and great service. I highly recommend giving it a try, especially the softshell crab sandwich!
